Eye mission with Barraquer FDN

We got many requests from medical professionals and foundations that wanted to volunteer in Africa offering their knowledge and help free of charge, for only a simple thank-you.  They felt the vocation to help people in need. Gradually we have built a bridge from Barcelona to Kenya, between professionals in healthcare and sick people who cannot afford treatment.

Reduce cataract blindness and improve the visual healthiness of the population.

1. The ophthalmological expeditions of the Barraquer Foundation focus on operating on cataracts, which is the main cause of blindness in the developing countries. They also provide glasses for adults and children who without them cannot attend school.
2. 530 operations, 4.902 consultations and check-ups, 850 glasses.
