HIV/AIDS continues being the main deadly infection worldwide. In 2011 the number of people with HIV was 34 million, about 10% of them children under the age of 15. About 70% live in sub-Saharan Africa.
Kibera is the biggest marginal district of Africa and one of the biggest in the world. Kibera has a total population of about one million inhabitants; most of them are extremely poor earning less than 1$ per day.

In Nairobi there are 12 slums and, although we cannot be sure of the number of inhabitants that live there, in some of them, for instance in Kibera, more than 1.5 million people are barely surviving.
